Kitty Cat Clutches & Parts
MaxTorque 5/8", #35 (Kitty Cat)
MaxTorque Stock Kitty Cat (Kitty Cat)
Kitty Cat Stock Clutch Spring
MaxTorque STOCK Kitty Cat Clutch
-
Although MaxTorque had to raise their prices summer 2021, we are proud to keep the same pricing as we've had since 2003!
-
The first listed clutch is an OEM stock clutch for your Kitty Cat
provided by the same manufacturer as the original Kitty Cat clutch. -
Directly from
the manufacture and assembled to provide up to a
200 rpm higher engagement than an 'off-the-shelf OEM stock
clutch. This provides your driver with much better performance
off the starting line.
-
Used for stock class racing.
-
The
second clutch below is the same OEM clutch except you can choose a
different sprocket. We are the only vendor that will custom
configure your clutch with what you want rather than making your buy
extra gears.
-
The
fiber washer is used inside the clutch and does two things. It
keeps oil from getting from the hub onto the shoes and it also acts
as a spacer to keep the inside of the drum from hitting the silver
plate (dust cover).
-
The
'Clutch Bolt Cup Washer" is a specially shaped washer that holds the
clutch in place and prevents floating on the shaft.
-
If
you've noticed the clutch engagement being low or the engine having
to lug to get the Kitty Cat moving, you might just need to replace
the spring. As the spring heats and cools it looses its
strength and the weaker the spring, the lower the engagement.
New the clutch should engage at 2000 rpm, but as the clutch gets
older it can engage as low as 1400 rpm, which is way too low.
MaxTorque PERFORMANCE Kitty Cat Clutch (2400 rpm engagement)
-
THIS IS
AN EXCLUSIVE OLSON BROTHERS CLUTCH!!!
- This is an OEM stock replacement clutch that's been modified for your Kitty Cat
for better performance and uses the same brake band.
-
This clutch is stock
appearing but has an upgraded performance spring.
-
Excellent clutch for back-yard recreational riding.
-
At
Olson Brothers Dist, we want you to get what you need for the best
price. That's why we are the only supplier that offers you a choice in sprocket sizes for
your 'performance' clutch without making you buy them separately. 11
tooth is stock and for every tooth increase on the clutch it's
approximately equivalent to a four teeth reduction on the driven
sprocket. In other words, a 13 tooth clutch sprocket (2 sizes larger than stock) would be
similar to changing the driven sprocket from the stock 42 tooth to a
34 tooth (8 tooth reduction).
- Note: To use a 14 tooth sprocket you'd need the governor
bypassed and running on flat smooth terrain. To use a 15 tooth
sprocket you'd need the governor bypassed and running on ice or a
more frictionless surface.

MaxTorque Heavy Duty Kitty Cat Clutch
- This clutch is configured to engage between 2200 and 2400 rpm, but when the clutch engages it will lock up harder than stock and hold it tight. It's intended to be used in rough terrain or areas were power is desired over performance.

MaxTorque Drum & Sprocket Assembly
- These assemblies replace the drum and sprocket on your existing MaxTorque clutch. If you're looking to change speed and performance by changing the gear ratio, this is one way to do that. What you will receive is the black drum with the sprocket of your choice already installed on the drum.

Predator 79cc Clutch
- This clutch is configured to engage at approximate 2300 rpm and with the heavier shoes it will lock up harder than stock or chinese clutches.
- We've tried several configurations of clutches and this seems to be the best fit for the Predator 79cc engine.

Kitty Cat Stock Clutch Spring
(Kitty Cat)
-
This is
the blue tinted clutch spring with an approximate engagement of 2000
rpm.
-
Over
time the heating and cooling of the clutch and spring will weaken
the spring and thus lower your clutch engagement. Your
engine's peak torque is typically in the mid 3000 rpm range.
The further away your engagement is from the peak torque the more
your engine has to work to get up to speed. Therefore, at the
2000 rpm engagement your engine accelerates with a small amount of
hesitation or "lugging". But the lower that engagement gets
the more the engine "lugs" and has to work to get even back to the
normal 2000 rpm engagement. At some point the Kitty Cat may
not even get itself going without a push. Changing the used
spring to a new OEM stock spring will get your clutch back to
optimal stock engagement.
